Howdy!
Taylor Matousek is a graphic designer, writer, and photographer from Northern California. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Redlands in Southern California, with a B.A. in creative writing and studio art (graphic design emphasis).
Taylor has since switched coasts and now resides in Charlottesville, Virginia. She’s worked as a grant writer at UVA, as a member of the marketing team for Charlottesville’s historic Paramount Theater, and as the technical editor and accessibility lead for a consulting firm. Now firmly planted in the creative marketing arena, Taylor is the corporate marketing manager for a healthcare IT company.
While she’s no stranger to digital design, Taylor is more drawn to tactile art, endeavoring to attempt new techniques in any medium that catches her eye. She has created books using all manner of layout and binding techniques, prints via letterpress and linocut, drawings in pencil and charcoal, and dozens of print pieces in all shapes and sizes. Nothing brings her greater joy than to hold a finished piece in her hands and share it with others.
When she isn’t obsessing over colors and nitpicking grammar, Taylor reads and writes fiction, cares for her plants, plays narrative-driven video games, and hangs out with Suki, her mischievous foxhound.
